I could not have imagined a year with more surprises and sweeping changes to our thinking and doing borne out of unimaginable pain, suffering and insurmountable challenges encountered and endured the world over by so many.
2020 is 6 months old and yet we have navigated and continue to traverse the landscape of a virus that has challenged every one of us citizens of the world.
We are also grappling with the Black Lives Matter movement, asking questions, necessarily having honest and sometimes uncomfortable conversations around what we have failed to do so far to ensure we value every single life and how our organizational, social, political, legal and religious systems have conspired to unwittingly facilitate actions of racial inequality amongst us.
We must respond with honesty and with compassion and love. We must stand shoulder to shoulder to stamp out inequities. We should only make the choice to leave this world a kinder and more just place than when we found it.
I am inspired again by the meaningful poetry of Tomfoolery below hoping for a world like the one described by John Lennon in his song ‘Imagine’
