One of the unfinished rooms in my place is one that is intended to one day be a properly designed, aesthetically pleasing and fully functioning walk in robe.

For now it is a mix of temporary wardrobe shelving purchased from IKEA & Freedom.

My clothes are hung up in categories – workwear tops, bottoms, outerwear and casual tops & going out, bottoms & outerwear. Even though I try and order the clothing layout every so often, in the busyness of life, things end up in a higgledy piggledy mess and I finding myself starting all over again, again and again.

There is no order to how my shoes are stored & my bags are in Kmart storage boxes which are functional for now, but oh so unattractive for a girlie girl’s wardrobe. When I look in the boxes every once in a while, I will find a bag that I forgot I had. It’s like going on a treasure hunt. Such is the chaos in this space that I am desperate for well designed inspired, pretty and functional walk in robe! – one where most things are visible & nothings gets buried and forgotten in a box or hidden in a basket or layered onto a hanger only to be re-discovered months later.

I have put off finishing this room since the house got built and it has recently started to become a real priority because I am frustrated on a daily basis by the messiness which although I conquer temporarily, I am back at square one soon thereafter. Aaargh 😖! I am not looking for anything pretentious. Instead, I would like, appealing to the eye, functional and budget friendly.

I have refresh plans for my entire bedroom & plan to tackle the fit out of my walk in robe at the same time. Before I embark on this reno, I thought I’ll consult my on call interior designer, you guessed it…good reliable Gemini AI.

To supplement Gemini’s budget friendly advice, I also have a plethora of walk in robe ideas saved to a Pinterest board to make sure this robe delivers on all fronts – full and half hanging spaces, storage drawers & cubicles for bags & dedicated shoe storage are a priority.

Now I do realise that, Gemini has not been given room measurements, just a photo of my disaster of a wardrobe and a plea to present ideas, any of which would be an improvement on the present state of affairs 😂

I am too embarrassed to share the current state of my wardrobe malfunction hehe! 😂 (sorry, not sorry – couldn’t resist the opportunity to use that phrase differently!) Suffice to say, it looks like a herd of elephants trampled through my walk in robe and now it needs a complete disaster management strategy implemented.
